The fourth installment of the series continues the use of etched and cut plexiglass from part 3 as well as the continued use of legal imagery and American iconography from parts 1 & 2, but introduces the use of a cut mirror floating betwixt the layers. Among the iconography used are two versions of the stars in the American flag. One is the design by the pro-statehood New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico with 51 stars and the other is one of the older designs of the U.S. flag in the 1800s during the height of Manifest destiny. The furthest piece in the rear is a compiled list of all of the major immigration laws passed in the U.S. This work is largely concerned with the legal aspects of American immigration history.
