This progression of The Creation adds a more dramatic contrast and brings the two sides of the piece closer together by putting the soft blue against the harsh red. In the next version I hope to edit the outfit of our focus subject into something that is more fitting of the nature of the piece. Less concert performance and more "all powerful, destructive and benevolent being."
The Creation is a commission that was based around the theme of darkness turning into light. I blended this theme with the old mythical idea of Creation, where out of darkness light emerges. The themes in this work are heavily influenced by sci-fi and astronomy and the feel of the nebulous and galactic. What I hope to work on is to define many of the details in the clouds and make the light source crisper.
